Important Update for SASSA Beneficiaries: Transition to Postbank Black Card Extended to 20 March 2025

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is transitioning from the SASSA Gold Card to the new Postbank Black Card to enhance security and comply with updated banking standards. The original deadline for this transition was 28 February 2025. However, due to challenges faced by beneficiaries—including long queues, system issues, and travel distances to service points—the deadline has been extended to 20 March 2025. This extension aims to provide beneficiaries with additional time to make the necessary switch without disrupting their grant access.
